Light Jets

The Beechjet 400 later renamed the Hawker 400 is a small twin engine corporate aircraft. It has an enclosed lavoratory and a beautiful luxurious interior which has made it the business jet of choice!

The Hawker 400 was designed by Raytheon. The later version of the Hawker 400 is the Hawker 400XP another light jet. The difference between the two aircraft are the advanced aerodynamics, mechanical and interior improvements of the Hawker 400XP. The general specifications of a Hawker 400XP are the following:

Mid-Size Jets

Planes include: Citation Excel, Citation 3, Citation 7, Hawker 700, Hawker 800, Hawker 800XP, Lear 55 and Lear 60

Super Mid-Size Jets

Planes include: Challenger 300, Citation 10, Falcon 50, 900, 2000 and Hawker 1000

Typically a mid-size jet seats 7-9 passengers. The fastest long range mid-size jet is the Citation X. It is well suited for coast to coast chartering and has a range of 3070 nautical miles.

The Citaton X has a range of 590 MPH and a maximum ceiling of 51,000 feet which is quite impressive. The cabin height is 5.7 which is average for a mid-size Jet and has 72 cubic feet for baggage. It can travel from NY to LA in 4 hours time which is no small feat as an average mid-size jet will do this trip in 5 hours time. A passenger can save up to 1 hour in travel time. This is truly monumental as nothing even comes close in the convential business jet category. That is simply amazing!

The first Citation X was delivered in June 1996. Other Citations include Citation 3, Citation 6, and Citation 7. The Citation X uses a Rolls-Royce Engine and fully integrated avionics and flies at mach .92. This is by far the fastest civilian aircraft. Wow! It also has a passenger capacity of 8-12 passengers and is still in production. This aircraft is manufactured by Cessna.
